Libros Infantiles

Eighth grade students learned the uses of both the future and conditional tenses. After mastering both tenses, students wrote and illustrated children's books similar to those written by Laura Numeroff. Students shared their books with some of the elementary grades. The stories were creative, humorous and demonstrated their knowledge of the future and conditional tenses.

Field Research Experiment Day

Eighth graders and all their participants had great fun putting these well-designed experiments into action. Tests ranged from tasting 3 different-colored mystery liquids and determining their flavor, to listening to and reading a sentence and answering questions about it, to taking a multiplication test while listening to music! All ages participated in the name of science. Now on to analyzing data!!

Storytelling and Storywriting

Eighth graders were put to the challenge to come up with their own story using only the preterite and imperfect tenses. Students included at least three grammatical structures, vocabulary, and a storyboard illustrating their story. Later, students involved their classmates in the storytelling teaching them the grammatical structures and vocabulary. All of the stories were well-written and creative. It was neat to see them lead their classmates in the lessons. As you can tell by the pictures, they really enjoyed this project.
